To file an appeal, whether it is SSI or SSDI (disability insurance benefits), you can file it online. You can go to your local office. You should make an appointment to do that. Don’t just show up at the local office. You can call them, and they will mail you the appeal forms. But you only have 60 days to file your appeal though, so make sure if they mail you the forms that you get them back to the local office in time. Calling them and telling them that you want to file an appeal is not filing an appeal. That doesn’t count. You actually have to do all the paperwork and get it back to Social Security in those 60 days.
