A lot of our clients want to know if there is any work they can do while they are waiting to get their disability benefits. We advise our clients that if they find something they want to try, if they think they can do it, by all means they should try. It is always good to try to work. If there is a job that someone can do with their health problems, it will be beneficial to them, they will earn more money than they would get in disability benefits, and it is always a good idea to try. But we also caution our clients that it is very important to keep their attorneys informed about what they are doing, so that we know the nature of the work and how much of it they are doing because there are a lot of factors that Social Security will consider if a claimant is trying to work.
